Volunteer at RESPOND

Your help brings us one step closer to ending domestic violence in our community. RESPOND offers both individuals and groups a variety of opportunities for getting involved. From direct service to answering the crisis hotline, clerical work or manual labor—there are many ways to lend your expertise, time and talents!

Volunteers

  • Programs and Services Volunteer

    RESPOND relies on dedicated, trained volunteers to assist by supplementing direct service staff’s work with families, answering hotline calls, providing childcare, assisting with individual advocacy and support groups.

    Programs and Services volunteers must attend an intensive 45-hour training educating participants on the effects of domestic violence on individuals, families and children. This training prepares staff and volunteers to work with trauma survivors and is conducted on weekends and evenings.

  • Administrative Office Volunteer

    RESPOND welcomes friendly administrative volunteers to assist with answering the phones, greeting visitors and helping with special projects.

  • Project Volunteer

    RESPOND offers project-based volunteer opportunities throughout the year including painting, light carpentry and other group based activities.

  • Expertise Volunteer

    Have a special skill that you are willing to share? RESPOND encourages you to share your skills in graphic design, information/technology, marketing, law, etc!

  • Event Volunteer

    Join a committee! RESPOND has several working event committees, including the Gala Committee whose primary task is planning and executing RESPOND’s signature fundraising event. There are various opportunities throughout the year to help plan an event that raises awareness and resources to support RESPOND’s programs and services!
