JOB OPENING: Events Assistant

RESPOND, Inc. seeks a part-time Events Assistant who will be devoted to fundraising events and outreach development, coordination and delivery.  The Events Assistant works closely with the Director of Development and Communications, Executive Director and volunteer committees to manage all aspects of RESPOND’s event and outreach efforts. Primary Responsibilities:

- Manage communication with RESPOND's volunteer-based Events Committee

- Work with Development team to coordinate sponsorship requests and follow-up

- Create and coordinate written materials

- Secure in-kind donations for events

- Create pre and post event marketing materials

- Complete all event related acknowledgements and thank you notes

- Assist in maintaining and updating RESPOND website and social media

- Support gift processing efforts such as entering donor data into database

- Assist Development team in preparing newsletters, appeals, and event related materials

- Assist Development team in preparation for annual appeals, friend raisers, and other donor cultivation events

- Other responsibilities or tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

- Ability to represent the agency and stakeholders favorably

- Experience working with volunteer committees (non-profit experience a plus)

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines

- Sensitivity to the needs of survivors of domestic abuse and their children and the ability to relate to a diverse population

- Ability to express oneself clearly verbally, in writing, and through public speaking

- Excellent organizational skills

- Possession of a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to travel within RESPOND’s service area<

- Access to a personal vehicle preferred

- Knowledge of Microsoft applications, fundraising software and data base management

    RESPOND recognizes the following holidays. The RESPOND Community Service Center/ Administrative Operations (main office) will be closed on holidays. Employees who do not work in programs and services, and whose departments operate on a Monday- Friday schedule, will observe a Sunday Holiday on the following Monday and a Saturday holiday on the previous Friday. It is at the discretion of the Executive Director if a program will operate on any one of the designated holidays. The shelter as a 24 hour/365 day a year program operates every day including holidays.
